Burrowing Owls by Rob Palmer

Burrowing Owls live throughout the Americas where they hunt insects and rodents for their daily meals. The owls love to eat juicy termites and are one of the only species of owls to consume vegetation such as the fruit of the prickly pear cactus. When excited, Burrowing Owls can be observed to bob up and down and their calls include ‘who who’ along with screeches and chatter. All photographs are by wildlife photographer Rob Palmer.
